EDMONTON, AB: Behind The 8, a diesel parts supplier located in Edmonton, has announced that it now offers ECMs for select diesel engines. Its current lineup of ECMs is manufactured by Cummins, and works with Cummins engines.
Electronic Control Modules (ECMs), sometimes called Engine Control Modules, manage a variety of engine functions, including fuel mixture, ignition timing, braking, emissions, safety, and more. ECMs are continually monitoring data from a variety of different sensors, adjusting and optimizing different engine functions as conditions change.
ECMs are a vital part of all modern diesel builds. Presently, Behind The 8 offers 4 different ECMs:
Each of these ECMs is compatible with different Cummins engine builds and must be appropriately tuned to the engine they are slated to control. The team at Behind The 8 requests the serial numbers of their customers’ engines to ensure that ECMs are appropriately programmed before shipping.
“In our mission to supply Western Canada with diesel engine parts quickly and efficiently, we realized that adding ECMs to our inventory was a must,” said Gary Pennell, President of Behind The 8. “Many of our commercial clients need their engines back online as quickly as possible; every day a truck is down, someone is losing money. By providing affordable ECMs with same-day delivery to many cities in Western Canada, we can get our clients back to business faster than ever before.”
With over 25 years of industry experience behind it, Behind The 8 was established to provide commercial customers and hobbyists with high-quality aftermarket parts for diesel engines. The parts in its inventory include several parts for engines manufactured by Caterpillar, Mack, PACCAR, Detroit, and Cummins, with a focus on cylinder heads; it also offers camshafts for both DOHC and SOHC engines, as well as ECMs for Cummins engines.
